San Francisco duo Girls are back with their 60's drenched ep "Broken Dreams Club". This is a wonderfully produced record, filled with shimmering guitars, lazy trumpets and catchy heart felt melodies. Christopher Owens vocals add to the 60's vibe with a well equipt vocal range. The album reminds me a little of The Flaming Lips (Soft Bulletin) in the use of instruments and atmosphere they build.
"Heartbreaker" is a wonderful song, it opens with a phased guitar and you know it's not going to dissapoint when the bass line kicks in. This is a move in a really interesting direction for Girls, I'm a big fan I hope to hear more.
